It was Thursday night, February 26, 2009 when I began to take portions of our computer and phone systems permanently offline form our Montrose Avenue location in preparation for our upcoming weekend move to our new, operant location at 4406 N Milwaukee Avenue. It was a process that was to have virtually seamlessly allowed for the flow of calls, faxes and data transmissions to come into and out of our new location. When a series of incidents delayed the installation and activation of our phone and data lines at our new location, it was Cricket to the Rescue.

What the heck is Cricket? Cricket is a wireless services provider that has been around for about 10 years now, but new to the Chicago Area. In my quest to find great deals, I had purchased a wireless broadband Internet device and a cellphone and I'm so glad I did. Most of our phone lines at the office are VOIP or "digital service" lines which require the Internet to work so when AT&T was not able to immediately install the lines, I was able to configure my Cricket internet adaptor to run two phone lines and then used the Cricket Wireless phone for some of our outgoing calls and as a backup for incoming calls. While this "backup" system did not allow us to receive our usuall call volume, which can peak at over 100 incoming calls per day up to six lines, it did allow us to receive a good number of calls, faxes, e-mails and more at a time where we would have literally been left in the dark. The sevice worked so well that I decided to keep the service and even sell it.
